Privacy Policy for BustSpammers.com

BustSpammers.com does not use any sinister, not even unusual practices. Other than writing blog comments, there is hardly a chance for you to expose yourself if you tried. For many years, I didn't feel it necessary to put up long legalese that no one other than lawyers and those seeking to copy a privacy policy for their own use will ever read. Those who care about privacy issues will likely already know everything contained herein, and those who don't care, well, they won't get here in the first place.

However, now my advertising partners require me to post a privacy policy and privacy is in fact an important issue to me - my own as well as my visitors'. Therefore, this document outlines the types of personal information that is received and collected by BustSpammers.com and how it is used.

If you require any more information or have any questions about my privacy policy, please feel free to contact me by email at BustSpammers privacy email.

Log Files

Like most other web servers, the server hosting BustSpammers.com keeps log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site and track user movement around the site.

Cookies and Third Parties

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. You can set your browser to reject some or all cookies, but you should be aware that this can also limit useful functionality, on BustSpammers.com for example in the blog comment system. For your convenience, here are links on how to manage cookies on some popular browsers:

Analytics

BustSpammers.com uses cookies to compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that I can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. I may contract with third-party service providers to assist me in better understanding my site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on my behalf except to help me understand and improve my site. One such service I currently use is Google Analytics. You can review Google Analytic's own privacy policy and also opt out of Google Analytics tracking.

BustSpammers.com Functionality

BustSpammers.com uses cookies to record user-specific information and customize web page content. For instance, after you submit a blog comment, the system will remember your personal information as outlined below so you don't have to enter it again when you submit another comment.

Third-party Advertisers

To monetize the site, BustSpammers.com displays advertising that is served from third parties. These advertising partners may use cookies and web beacons on my site. My advertising partners may include Google Adsense, Commission Junction and Amazon.

These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send the advertisements and links that appear on BustSpammers.com directly to your browsers. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. Other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons) may also be used by the third-party ad networks to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and / or to personalize the advertising content that you see.

BustSpammers.com has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices. BustSpammers.com's privacy policy does not apply to, and I cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites. For your convenience, I'd like to point out the Network Advertising Initiative, an association of advertising networks, data exchanges, and marketing analytics services, which lets you learn more about and opt out of many ad services all at once. Please note that BustSpammers.com does not use most of the services listed there - I may not even use any of them - and the link is provided purely informationally to help you with advertising privacy issues in general.

DoubleClick DART Cookie:
Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on BustSpammers.com. Google's use of the so-called DART cookie enables it to serve ads to my users based on their visit to BustSpammers.com and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad network privacy policy.
